A Pooya was held at the DELT premises on 14.10.2021 to mark the Vani Vizha. The Dean, Faculty of Arts and Culture graced the religious observances along with the staff members of DELT.

Vice – chancellor’s visit to the DELT

The Vice-chancellor visited the DELT to view the newly established set up and the preparations and arrangements for teaching and learning and administrative activities and to have a discussion on further needs for development of the department and the staff.
During the discussion, the Vice Chancellor promised that he would take all the possible measures to enhance the learning environment of the department and to help overcome the overload of academic activities by the Staff/DELT.

Welcome to Mr.K.Thayalanathan and Farewell to Mr.K.Kamalaruban

Welcome to Mr.K.Thayalanathan to Department of English Language Teaching, Eastern University, Sri Lanka.

Farewell to Mr.K.Kamalaruban to Dean’s Office, Faculty of Arts and Culture, Eastern University, Sri Lanka.

A function was held at the DELT/EUSL to welcome the newly appointed Management Assistant – Mr.K.Thayalanathan, MA, GR 1 – and to bid farewell to Mr.K.Kamalaruban, MA.

The Dean, Faculty of Arts and Culture graced the occasion along with the staff members of the DELT.

Tree Planting -Lions, Eastern University

Valuable Plants of different varieties were planted within and around the New DELT building on the 26th of March to mark World Forest Day with the participation of Dr.J.Kennedy, Dean, Faculty of Arts and Culture, Rev.Fr. A.A. Navaretnam, Coordinator, Discipline of Christianity, members of the Lions Club, Eastern University, and the staff members of DELT.

The plants were donated by the Lions, Eastern University.

Tree Planting Ceremony

A Tree Planting Ceremony was held to mark the World Forest Day, with the assistance of the Department of Forest, Batticaloa, at the DELT on 23.03.2021.

 
The Dean, Faculty of Arts and Culture, The Registrar/EUSL, Academics, ​Senior Assistant Registrar/Capital Works and Planning, ​Students and the ​O​officials from the Department of Forest graced the occasion.
 
Many varieties of local plants were planted in and around the New DELT Building.
