Keynote Speaker

Dr. Jehan Perera

Dr. Jehan Perera

Founder Member & Executive Director
National Peace Council of Sri Lanka

Jehan Perera is a founder member and Executive Director of the National Peace Council of Sri Lanka (NPC), established in 1995. He leads one of Sri Lanka's principal non-partisan civil society institutions working on democratic governance, reconciliation, and pluralism. His responsibilities include political analysis, strategic leadership, policy dialogue with government and international actors, oversight of research and publications, and representation at international forums. He regularly engages with diplomatic missions, United Nations agencies, and international donors on conflict dynamics, governance reform, and regional implications.

He has made a long-standing contribution to national dialogue through numerous initiatives and weekly columns published in the English, Sinhala, and Tamil press. He represented civil society at the UN Human Rights Council 57th Session Side Event on Combatting Intolerance, Hate Crimes and Islamophobia in Geneva (2024).

He holds a Juris Doctor from Harvard University (USA), a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Harvard College, and a Bachelor of Laws from the Open University of Sri Lanka.
