Created Concept and Theory in Theatre studies

  1. Performance Centered Learning
    • Chandrakumar.S. created Concept of the “Performance Centered Learning” through the teaching in the practice time. The concept was found continuous activities of teaching of Kooththu at the Eastern University, Sri Lanka in 2012 based on Thenmody Kooththu of Kandirasan (Form of traditional theatre performance of Batticaloa region). This is a one of the Teaching and Learning method to involve practical knowledge to attend examination as well as one become an artiste.
    • For Example Training on ‘Nondinadakam’ known as  ‘Thenmoody kooththu’ is offered  to special degree students of Fine Arts, FAC, EUSL by Mr.P.Kathirkamanathan (Annaviyar) under the guidance of me, Dept. of Fine Arts in the  title of ‘learning and teaching through Performance’ on Thenmoody  kooththu (Form of traditional theatre performance of Batticaloa region) activity with social participation.’ Training on this kooththu with social participation was organized in the Vaalkattu area of Kokkatichcholai on 1st, 2nd & 3rd of February, 2019.  It is worthy to note that the students have been trained on this kooththu by Mr.M.Ponnampalam annaviyar, the most experienced and talented artiste on Nondi kooththu.   Mr.Chandrakumar   Who is created concept of the performance centered Learning taught in the practice time.
  2. Bottom to Bottom
    • Chandrakumar.S. created theoretical view through based on Kooththu Theatre for empowerment. Bottom is Cultural space where every area of the world included. There are lots of Cultural elements in Bottom Such as Theatre style, rituals, norms, local knowledge, and method of life.  One of the performances was taken from Bottom to change top level based on Modern and Colonial concept. These are support for only individual who is created of the concept and not enrich community. The Bottom Culture was oppressed by this hybrid thinking (Western cantered model).
    • Here Bottom means that one of the Performances is taken from Bottom without individual changes and practised the same. Then, it has to bring in Bottom Level to develop People. So, Theory of ‘Bottom to Bottom’ is support to develop traditional Theatre of Kooththu in its root level as well as Decolonial aspect.
