Performance of the Temple
Makidi Kooththu was performed at Munaikkadu Nagashakthi Temple at 10.00 pm on 19/06/2018. This programme was facilitated and coordinated by Mr.S.Chandrakumar Head of the Department of Fine Arts, EUSL. Mr.S.Chandrakumar had acted as “police - inspector” in this performance. The villagers and academics were participated and enjoyed this performance. Students of the Department of Fine Arts were acted in this Makidi Kooththu. Construction of Makidi Koothu stage was made by Mr.S.Chandrakumar and his Students. Mr.Rajathurai was an Annaviyar in this koothu.
The Concept of Rehearsal and Discussion to Empower Practical Aspect among the Students
The Concept of Rehearsal and Discussion was arranged by Mr.S.Chandrakumar director of drama to develop the theme of street Drama and Drama elements of aesthetic in in - front the Senate Building of EUSL on 06/06/2018 at 9.00-12.30.
Community Outreach Work
Makidi koothu (one of the traditional theatre performance art forms in Batticaloa region) was performed, facilitated and programme modified by Mr.S.Chandrakumar, Head of the Department of Fine Arts. This programme was organized for community by the students as well as Lectures of Department of Fine Arts, EUSL, in the premises of kokkaddicholai Thanthodrishwarar Temple on 07/05/2018.
Exhibition and sale for Handicrafts and local Food
According to the syllabus of 1st year students of Fine Arts, exhibition and selling of handicrafts and indigenous food was organized by Dept. of Fine Arts on 06.02.2018. The concepts: self-production, management and organizing techniques were emphasized in this event. This event was facilitated and organized by Mr.S.Chandrakumar Head/ Fine Arts.
Pattipongal Event -2018
“Pattipongal” Event was organized by Dept. of Fine Arts for the purpose to include socio- economic, Art and cultural traditions into teaching and learning process of the curriculum of the Department on 17.01.2018. This event was organized by Mr.S.Chandrakumar Head/ Fine Arts.
Multi –Cultural Music Festival – 2017
The Event, “Multi –Cultural Music Festival – 2017” under Aesthetic & Creative Development Programme for the Students was organized and coordinated by Mr.S.Chandrakumar, Head, Department of Fine Arts, EUSL on 11.12.2017 at the premises of the Eastern University. The Students from all Faculties and Common Student Union were participated as the participants in various aspect of this programme.
Modern Drama performance for School students
“Arodu Nohan” (School Drama) drama was directed by Mr. S.Chandrakumar, Head/Fine Arts and was staged on 07.10.2017 in the BT/BW/ kannakudha Maha Viddiyalayam, Kannakudha. This programme was scheduled to empower learning and teaching for Teachers and Students of Education Zone of Batticaloa West. Department of Fine Arts and Batticaloa West Zone were Organized this programme.

Modern Stage Play “Arodu Nohan”
“Arodu Nohan” (Modern Stage Play) drama was directed by Mr S.Chandrakumar, Senior Lecturer from Dept. of Fine Arts and was staged on 25.05.2017 in the Nallaiya Memorial Hall Eastern University, Vantharumoolai.
Veerakumaran Nadakam Vadamodi Kooththu
Veerakumaran Nadakam Vadamoodi Kooththu (A Traditional Performing Art of the Eastern Region) produced by the Dept. of Fine Arts and staged at the night of 15.03.2017 at the Eastern University’s main playground. This programme was facilitated & coordinated by Mr. S. Chandrakumar, Senior Lecturer in Fine Arts under the learning by performance. Department of Fine Arts Students and Senior Lecturer Mr.S.Chandrakumar were performed this kooththu. S.Chandrakumar performed as a character of the “Vedan” (Hunter) as well as Muniver in the Veerakumaran kooththu.
