Makidi kooththu Performance

“Makidi Kooththu” (One of the Traditional Performing Artistic forms in Batticaloa Region) facilitated & coordinated by S.Chandrakumar, Senior Lecturer from Dept. of Fine Arts was staged at the day of 22.02.2017 in front of the Eastern University Senate Building. Students of the Department of Fine Arts were participated as a performer. Students were reached to Vantharumoolai from University under the teaching and guidelines of the Mr.S.Chanrakumar for training in three months. S.Chandrakumar had performed as a character of police. This Kooththu performance is a protest of the hierarchy in the community.

The Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Culture, the Director of Swami Vipulanantha institute of Aesthetic Studies, Foreigners, Lecturer of the Swami Vipulananda institute of Aesthetics Studies as well as Students, and Students of the Eastern University had graced this occasion..
